by posted 09/26/2022

**Please see email if viewing via text**

Hi parents! First off, congratulations to our girls for two great wins yesterday! We should all be very proud of them for beating a good opponent in a close contest in Game 1, and for their courage to face off with an older squad in Game 2 and completely dominate every aspect of the game!

Reminder, this weekend's games are on SATURDAY, 1 October at the El Pomar Youth Sports Complex (2212 Executive Circle, Colorado Springs CO 80906). Showtime for Game 1 is 8:15.

Game 1: 9:00 AM vs Patriots 5/6 Silver, Field F

Game 2: 10:00 AM vs Patriots 5/6 Blue, Field F

One request: Someone please remind me to/or offer to take a take a team photo this weekend (Coach T has requested multiple times and I have been negligent in my coachly duties on this front)!

Update Sun 9/18 Games & Oct Tournaments
by posted 09/14/2022

**Please see email if viewing via text and information below is cut off**

Hi parents. Two updates regarding this weekend's games and October tournament options.

1. 9/18 Game 1 (2:00). After discussing it with the 6th grade coaches, we all believe it makes more sense to have two mixed (5th & 6th) CMLC teams play each other, rather than have 5th play 6th. I think our girls will get more out of it this way.

2. October tournament options. Below is what I am currently tracking. Most of these comes with a team registration fee ($400-500) that would be divided by the number of players participating. The Aspen and Vail options would likely incur an additional lodging expense for each family.

-October 8th & 9th: Aspen Invitational

-October 9th: Boulder Valley Girls Lacrosse Fall Ball Play Day

-October 15th or 16th: CYLA Fall Festival 7v7 Tournament

-October 22nd & 23rd: Vail Fall Lax Jam 7v7 Tournament

-October 23rd: Monster Mash Sixes (Colorado Academy, Denver)

I am still researching details and will provide as soon as I have them, but I wanted to get the dates on your radar.

My two cents: While the "travel" tournaments can be a great experience, I think we get more bang for the buck by playing multiple local(ish) tournaments (i.e. Boulder, CYLA, and/or Monster Mash). If each of these three came with a $500 fee (and 8-10 girls participate), we could do all three for less than $200 a player, which is far less than a one night stay in Vail or Aspen. Not saying we have to play in three tournaments, just illustrating the point.

**Please resond via email with interest/preferences on which if any tournaments you'd like to participate in**

Thanks!

Justin
